Gloeiende donders! Dit is het toppunt! Dit keer zijn die verrekte ‘Vetkopers’ wérkelijk te ver gegaan! Dat ze ons als ‘Schieringers’ landverraders vinden, omdat wij Friesland aan de hertog van Saxen hebben gegeven, dat is hún probleem. En dat ze ons het liefst de strot afsnijden… Dat doen wij bij hun net zo graag…
Daarvoor is het oorlog. Maar dat ze het in hun kop halen om mijn vrouw en haar tante te gijzelen… Dát gaat te ver! Vanmorgen hoorde ik het nieuws in het Martenahuis, van oom Hessel.
Wat ging die ook tekeer! Ze hoorden hem op straat vloeken en tieren. En terecht! Waar halen die goddeloze duivels het gore lef vandaan om zo’n rotstreek te leveren! Werkelijk! Ik zweer bij alles wat me heilig is dat ik dat addergebroed persoonlijk aan mijn zwaard zal rijgen! Ik jaag ze allemaal naar de verdoemenis! En als ik mijn vrouw dan ongedeerd terug heb, dan zal ik mét oom Hessel, hoogst persoonlijk naar Jeruzalem reizen om daar als pelgrim bij het Heilige Graf mijn dank te brengen…
